Maharashtra political crisis : Eknath Shinde camping with 30 ‘rebel’ MLAs at Surat hotel, two Sena leaders meet rebellion minister
Political Crisis in Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde : Eknath Shinde is camping at a resort in Gujarat’s Surat, accompanied by other ‘rebel’ MLAs.
The Uddhav Thackeray-led government in Maharashtra appears to be in crisis after Shiv Sena minister Eknath Shinde and some MLAs of his party have gone incommunicado and camping in Surat, a day after suspected cross-voting in MLC polls, putting a question mark on the stability of the MVA dispensation. The party removed Shinde as Legislative Party Leader after his rebellion led to the political turmoil.
While the development has led to hectic political parleys in the state, the Shiv Sena and the Congress have ruled out any danger to the MVA government with Sanjay Raut saying that the BJP’s efforts to topple the alliance government will turn fruitless. Meanwhile, TV reports suggest that more ‘rebel’ MLAs from Sena are likely to join Shinde today, which will make it interesting to seen how the numbers stack up in favour of the BJP.
