Martyr Colonel Santosh Babu’s father not satisfied with the Mahavir Chakra Awarded to his son

Colonel Santosh Babu, who was martyred while taking on Chinese soldiers in Galwan Valley last year, has been honoured with Maha Vir Chakra.

Martyred Colonel Santosh Babu’s father is not satisfied on awarding the Mahavir Chakra to his late son. He said that the colonel should have got Paramveer Chakra.

The father of martyr Colonel Santosh Babu said on Monday that he was not 100 per cent satisfied with awarding him posthumously the Mahavir Chakra for displaying bravery in June 2020.

He should have been awarded the Param Vir Chakra.
Babu’s father B Upendra said, “It is not that I am sad, but I am not 100 percent satisfied with Mahavir Chakra Award.

He should have been better respected.”

Colonel Santosh Babu’s father further stated that, but I am on the opinion that Santosh Babu should have been nominated for Param Vir Chakra, the highest military award for gallantry shown during the discharge of his duties.

The martyr Colonel’s father said that, his son’s bravery has inspired many people, including personnel working in the defense forces.
