Mumbai Police registered a case of culpable homicide against Barge captain Rakesh Vallabh.

The Mumbai Police has taken major action in the case of the Barge P-305, sunk during the Cyclone Tauktae.

It has registered a case of culpable homicide against Barge captain Rakesh Vallabh and others for the deaths in the incident. The Mumbai Police has registered this FIR on the complaint of Mustafizur Rahman Sheikh, an engineer on the barge. As of Thursday evening, 49 more bodies have been recovered.
In fact, the ship Barge P305 sank in the Arabian Sea near Mumbai due to cyclone swings. Out of 261 people present, 188 have been rescued but the remaining people are missing, out of which the bodies of 49 people have been recovered. The Navy has issued a statement that a Coast Guard contingent is conducting a rescue operation in the Arabian Sea. INS Kolkata has reached Mumbai to provide safe transport to the dead bodies and rescued people.
The Mumbai Police has registered a case against the captain and others. Police has taken this action in several sections other than 304 (2). All of them are accused that even after the warnings were issued by the Meteorological Department, Captain Vallabh did not pay attention to the safety of the personnel of Barge P-305 and due to their negligence, the incident happened. Significantly, the information about the operation of the Indian Navy is also taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
