On Tuesday, Dr. VK Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog, said that the Drug Controller General of India (DCGE) has approved Covaxin for the second and third phase clinical trials in the age group of 2 to 18 years. . It has been told that the trials will begin in the next 10-12 days. India would conduct a trial of 525 healthy volunteers of biotech covaxin at AIIMS in Delhi and Patna and at the Meditrina Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur.
