The route of Punjab Mail, one of the oldest trains in India, has been abruptly changed. The train going from Ferozepur to Mumbai was not stopped in Delhi.
The reason behind this is said that thousands of farmers had left from Ferozepur by train to their way to Delhi to join the Delhi Kisaan movement, suddenly the train route was changed not allowing them to land in Delhi.
Northern railways states that the change of root is due to the technical constraints which have been stated in the operation.
Northern Railway spokesperson Deepak Kumar said that the route of the train has been changed due to operational disruptions. Other railway officials have said that the train was not stopped due to any technical fault between Rohtak and Shakurbasti station in Delhi.
