Crime rate in the Assam against women is highest in the country: Priyanka Gandhi.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra arrived in Assam on Monday after the announcement of assembly election dates for Assam.
Addressing to a public meeting in Gauhpur. Priyanka Gandhi said, “the crime rate against women in Assam is the highest in the whole country and the government here is doing nothing to stop the crime. “
Priyanka further said, “you have the power to vote and use it for your safety, this election will be very important for the safety of women.”
There will be a three-phase voting for 126 assembly seats in Assam. The first phase will start from 27th March. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also taken over the responsibility of campaigning on behalf of the Congress in Assam. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who was on a tour of Assam visited the Kamakhya Devi temple. After visiting the Kamakhya Devi temple, she tweeted that she wanted to come to the temple from a long time and that her wish was fulfilled. By worshiping in the temple, she has prayed for the welfare of the countrymen. After this she also danced with local women.
