Hardeep Singh Puri performed the Bhoomi-Poojan ceremony of Central Vista Avenue

Union Housing and Urban Minister Hardeep Singh Puri attended the Bhoomi-Poojan ceremony of Central Vista Avenue in Delhi. During this time he also took part in worship. After the puja, Hardeep Puri said that In 2022,the 75 years of Indian independence will be completed . The next Republic Day Parade of January 26 would take place on the new Central Vista Avenue. The work of the new Parliament House had been also started and Central Vista would also begin.

The new Parliament complex is being constructed near India Gate in the capital Delhi under the Central Vista Project. Under the Central Vista project, besides the new Parliament complex, government buildings for central ministries, new enclaves for the Vice President, the Prime Minister’s Office and housing are to be constructed.

The Central Vista project was announced by the central government in September 2019. But questions were raised about the amount which will be spent on it. In December 2020, the Supreme Court granted permission to hold the foundation stone ceremony for the Central Vista project but prohibited the commencement of construction. After which Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the project on 10 December 2020. Later on 5 January 2021, the Supreme Court allowed this project.
