Ranchi High Court grants bail to RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is serving a sentence in the fodder scam case, has been granted bail.

The Ranchi High Court has granted bail to Lalu Yadav with certain conditions. The most important thing in this is that Lalu Yadav will not be able to go abroad without the permission of the court and he has to submit his passport. Lalu Yadav will be coming out of jail after about three years, four months.
Lalu Prasad Yadav was sent to jail on 23rd December 2017 after being found guilty in the Chara Ghatola case. After which, till now, he is continuously in jail. However, his health was also poor during this period. He was hospitalized in Ranchi for a long time. Even now he is undergoing treatment at Delhi AIIMS.

Lalu Yadav has gone to jail many times in the case related to the fodder scam. In July, 1997, he spent four and a half months in prison in this case. In October 1998, he had gone to jail. In April 2000, Lalu Yadav went to jail for five days. After being convicted in a fodder scam case in 2013, he was sent to the Birsa Munda jail in Ranchi and was barred from contesting elections. After this, he was jailed in 2017.
