SC ordered to shifted Journalist Siddiqui Kappan to Delhi for medical treatment .

Kerala journalist Siddiqui Kappan, who was arrested for covering the Hathras murder in Uttar Pradesh and the alleged gang rape case, has received a major relief from the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court, after hearing all the arguments in the case, ordered that Siddiqui Kappan be shifted to Delhi for medical treatment. Journalist Kappan has been kept in Mathura jail of Uttar Pradesh. The judge said that he would be brought to Delhi for treatment, when he recovers he would be shifted to Mathura jail again.


It is noteworthy that today, the bail petition of Kerala journalist Siddiqui Kappan was heard in the Supreme Court. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Uttar Pradesh government, opposed the plea and demanded that the accused not be granted bail. He said that information has already been given to the Supreme Court that Siddiqui Kappan’s corona virus report has come negative, he has also been discharged from the hospital in Mathura. The ID card of the Tejas newspaper of the police has been found from him. Siddiqui Kappan claims that he is a journalist of the same newspaper but that news paper has been closed three years ago.
