UP POLICE ISSUED PRODUCTION WARRANT AGAINST STAND UP COMEDIAN MUNAWAR FAROOQUI

Uttar Pradesh police issued a production warrant against standup comedian Munawar Farooqui for allegedly making indecent remarks on Home Minister Amit Shah and Hindu deities.

Uttar Pradesh police issued a production warrant against standup comedian Munawar Farooqui for allegedly making indecent remarks on Home Minister Amit Shah and Hindu deities.

Munawar Farooqui is in Indore jail while Prayagraj police has served production warrants at Indore CJM Court and Central Jail.

According to Shishupal Sharma,The SHO of George Town police station, a case was registered against Munawar Farooqui on April 19, 2020 for inciting religious sentiments.

Farooqui uploaded a video on YouTube, mocking Hindu deities and Hindus who died in the Godhra train carnage.

In the video, he has indecent remarks on Home Minister Amit Shah raising question over his role in the Gujarat riots.

The crime branch is currently investigating the case.
The complaint against Munavar Farooqui was filed by Ashutosh Mishra.
