Naxalites have freed CRPF jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas captured at Bijapur.

In Naxalite attack on security forces in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh on Saturday, 22 soldiers were killed and 32 were injured.

CRPF jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas was also abducted by the Naxalites in this attack. Now the news of relief is that the Naxalites have freed CRPF jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas. On Thursday, the Chhattisgarh government said that the CRPF jawans kidnapped by the Naxalites have been released after the fatal encounter on Saturday. Explain that after the encounter, the Maoists had claimed that Rakeshwar Singh Manhas was in their possession.


The release of CRPF Jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas has given a new life to his family after the Mahas spent more than 100 hours in captivity. Hearing the news of Rakeshwar’s independence, his wife Meenu said, ‘Today is the happiest day of my life. I always looked forward to his return. I thank the government.” She further said, “The days of abduction of husband by Naxalites were very bad, but I did not give up hope that they will come. Although not getting any statement from the government was a cause of trouble for us, but considering their helplessness, I also want to thank them.”
